Meet Dr. Farrah Yau

Plastic surgery is about improving your natural proportions and beauty. It is important to know your options. I am a compassionate, dedicated and meticulous surgeon, and I want my patients to look their very best. I will help you feel confident and comfortable about achieving all of your aesthetic goals.

Dr. Yau is a Canadian and American-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and holds a faculty appointment with the University of Calgary.  She has full hospital privileges in the Calgary region.  Dr. Yau obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Calgary and a Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Alberta with special training in research, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List.   She completed her plastic surgery residency at the University of British Columbia.  After becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, she was subsequently awarded two scholarships to undertake specialized microsurgical training at the world-renowned Buncke Clinic in San Francisco.  She contributes to the University of Calgary plastic surgery training program through the education and mentoring of medical students and residents.  Dr. Yau feels honoured to be able to make a difference in people’s lives, one patient at a time.

Dr. Yau was born and raised in Calgary.  After thirteen years of post-graduate training, she returned to her roots in Alberta in 2012 where she now resides with her husband and two children.  In her spare time, Dr. Yau enjoys playing racquet sports, traveling, skiing, swimming, playing piano and activities with her family.

The cosmetic procedures that Dr. Yau enjoys doing the most include facelift surgery, breast surgery, abdominoplasty, liposuction and labiaplasty.  Her reconstructive practice consists largely of breast reconstruction, hand surgery and generalized trauma.  She has performed thousands of surgeries and combines her surgical expertise with artistic talent to create beautiful, functional and natural results.   It brings her great satisfaction to give her patients the aesthetic results that put smiles on their faces.
